I try to keep it as easy as possible to order a portrait of your child or baby; a simple 'Hello, I'd like to order a portrait of my child' will do - I'll take you through the process from there :)
I will send you the following information...
My drawings are done on A3 canvas paper in graphite pencil. I usually complete a drawing within 1 week of deposit payment, although this can change over busy seasons. I work from a reference photo on my phone and will require you to send me at least 10 reference photos. Together, we can decide on the photo that will be used.

Feel free to ask me anything... I am open to changes and requests and there are no 'stupid questions'.
Why so many reference photos?
It's not unusual to have clients send me up to 30 different photos and this is because I am looking for three specific things: The correct lighting, pose and quality. A child might be look perfectly adorable in a photo but if I can't make out the highlights and shadows, it will be a poor quality drawing. The expression on the child's face is also important; you might think that a big smile makes for the best drawing, but in my experience, the candid photos where a child is looking off into the distance will make a much more dreamy artwork. Though, of course, the final decision always belongs to the client.
Payment and Receiving your Artwork
I ask for a 50% deposit upfront and final payment is due on completion.
With regards to delivery, there are two options available to you:
​Collection from my house in Randpark Ridge, Johannesburg.
​OR
​I can send your artwork to you via postnet. (This will be an expense for the client and I will add it to your final payment).
